The Dolphin Discovery Centre Bunbury is Australia's Premier Wild Dolphin Experience in Australia's Southwest, only 2hrs south of Perth on the way to Busselton Jetty and the Margaret River Wine Region. It's Marine Discovery & Interpretive Centre is a unique indoor aquarium and exhibition dedicated to the life of the Bunbury Dolphins, their marine friends and environment. Please note that no dolphins are held in captivity. It showcases an expanded range of themed fish and animals like sharks, octopus, rescue sea turtles and coral aquariums plus our amazing 360-degree Digital Dolphinarium, as well as a fascinating Interpretation of the Koombana Bay environment and its history – geological, indigenous, marine and contemporary.
It is an immersive experience, with activity centres, interactive displays, feeding programs (4 times daily) and tours that appeal to all age groups. The aquariums tell the story of our region from freshwater river to offshore reef and feature the marine plants and animals of our temperate zone. The centre provides a unique experience that uses embedded technology along with natural displays to create a memorable experience for visitors that complements the wild dolphin experience of our beach Interaction Zone and Dolphin Tours into the bay by boat (booked separately).
The Dolphin Discovery Centre works with the wild Bottlenose dolphins of Koombana Bay and is dedicated to conservation, research and education. The centre is a not for profit organisation and thrives on the generosity of over 100 volunteers.
If the dolphins choose to visit the Interaction Zone outside the centre we will make sure we let you know. It's a great opportunity to see wild dolphins in their natural environment.
The Marine Discovery & Interpretive Centre is open daily from 9am - 3pm, your ticket is valid the whole day with multiple entry possible.
